Metropiss. State Election Preview

With only a few days to go to the election,  (sad coverage of the last one here.) will the twin planks of Metronet and Metropiss get the slightly damp teatowel (SDTT) that is Labor’s Mark McGowan over the line? Or will Colin’s mega jowls manage to cover the rolling scandal that is Troy Buswell well enough? Probably the latter. Labor is still suffering from the damage done by the moronic Alan Caprenter. Yes Carps, it is all your fault we have had Colin for all this time. Regarding Metronet. I notice Mark (SDTT) hasn’t taken up the point of difference suggested by this website of closing stations, particularly Mt Lawley. He’s proposing new ones, including a high speed service to Sugar Candy Mountain and Mordor. What are the public art implications SDTT?

And Metropiss. Are we not at saturation point with small bars? Do they really need more help?metropiss

The Hill

Someone apparently boasting about living in Hamilton Hill. Surely a poor man’s White Bum Valley? And the place is sending out mixed messages. Is it a quiche place, or a Beam & Cola place?the-hill

Outrage Sunday 89 ice cream

Apologies for today’s OS lite, but it’s been 100% literary vibrancy at the Perth Writers Festival. Here’s a shot from Rottnest: what is that young man eating?

Weekend Worstoff 240

Some more New York from Bartender’s Skills with a Manhatten showing that vibrancy is universal. This poster is displayed at the 57th Street station on the aptly named F line. Smaller type informs the viewer that the MTA (subway authority) does not necessarily condone the message. Good to know our taxes aren’t directly paying for anti-Islam hate speech. week240Koran_112751

Verge Vibrancy

For out of towners, Perth has this moronic system of verge pickups, where the local council will pick up discarded fatback tvs and broken furniture on a specific date. This means that people litter the roadway with crap for months before and after. You will still hear people saying how wonderful this way of doing things is. “Recycling”, they say. “Hidden treasures”, they say. This is a vibrancy too far. I guess this would be Stirling or Osborne Park. Morley Drive.verge

it’s a toss-up

I trust TLA is quaking in his Havaianas after reading this fine report in the daily paper of record. Mr Voelte was too polite to name names, but I think any fule kno the main online rival is the Flangemaster. SWM is prepared to fight: it’s going to be bloody. TLA, don’t bring your knife to this Wild West gunfight. I always enjoy reading 36-word paragraphs, and I especially enjoyed the 63-word par (although, admittedly, it is two sentences). The blizzard of big numbers was a bit confusing, but then I am a simple wordsmith and unsophisticated in financial matters.
