What is wrong with people? I was shocked and chagrined when I saw a woman litter in Cottesloe. She dropped her bundle, looked at it, looked at me, shrugged – then got into her late model white BMW with Victorian plates and drove away. She left the pizza, but kept the box. Ever the helpful gerbalist, I put it in the bin. Why are people so unkind?IMG_4282

Australia Post now delivering fruit! No wonder the CEO gets $2.1 million. I was dark on AP for taking five days to deliver a postcard from my ‘hood to that peach-infringer Bento, but all is forgiven. I can’t wait to photograph their pizza deliveries! IMG_4299IMG_4300

New Museum a loveletter to Shedism

Which isn’t really a surprise. Perth’s only genuine architectural movement Shedism is referenced in myriad ways here. The shed shape, the (transparent?) corrugated iron motif on the top floor, the disdain towards location and heritage buildings. That Koolhaas has finally come out as a Shedistophile, also not surprising. The only thing it’s not is ‘bold and distinctive’.  It also has a touch of traditional Noah’s Ark representation about it, which being nautical design Shedism also not surprising. The artist impression didn’t add the logo.Now corrected.

This is just enraging. More Bethany time for me. Subiaco, where Fire & Ice was. Hopefully they’ll give that awfully hip West Leederville place The Bun Also Surprises a run for its money. IMG_4258

Your bike is a time machine in Leedy Tafe. It was suggested to me that Leederville is so tired and “over” that it’s actually back and unplayed to the max. And then you see this wall mural. Everything, EVERYTHING that’s wrong with Perth public art. Tree beard dude, a total disconnect with the location and most importantly skills without imagination. Leederville so played it’s unplayed? Not yet.
