New York Bears

I feel like staying out of Perth another day. Bartenders Skills with a Manhatten sends Bears, which has a perthworst feel.

And then takes it back with some Noo Yoik worsting on a grand scale which puts our crap to shame.

BSWAM says.
Midtown includes some of the world’s earliest (and I would argue best) skyscraper architecture. It is one of the largest neighborhoods in Manhattan without a historic district (although there are several individual city landmarks, including the tall red building in this picture, a rare skyscraper design by Delano and Aldrich).

“Such architecture is rapidly being replaced by what are called “McSams” – hotels developed by Chinese developer Sam Chang and his in-house architect Gene Kaufman. This magnificent example interrupts a wall of Art Deco previously unchanged from the Great Depression and makes up for the fact by causing a new great depression every time one sees it.”

no more sheds with a view here

LIES! That’s what I thought when I read TLA’s post on this awesome first-floor shed in 2007. Embleton, he said, in a vain attempt to airbrush history, when any fule kno it was Hudson Street Bayswater. In August 2011 Teh Flangemaster noted the shed had gone – and now it is my sad duty to report the block has been leveled. My sources say the owner lived there with his parents as a young man and inherited it. Recently old age meant he was being taken advantage of by others. Now a developer/urban planner will whack in 243 units. My source could not say why the shed was attached. It may remain a mystery.IMG_6952

Alannah’s Election Fraud

Can we expect legal action over Alannah Mactiernan’s blatant breach of the Trade Practices Act with her campaign posters? This Alannah as a 15 year old Heather Locklear is not the Alannah people are getting behind. We want the bad hair, the snarling mouth and the spilling glass of Merlot as she takes Darryl “The Dunce from Dalkeith” apart. Who approved this photoshopped farce? It’s like a photo you see of a dead child on a headstone. If I could be bothered I’d start a “Bring back the real Alannah” Facebook campaign.

Outrage Sunday 108 made from local and imported ingredients

You know it: I’m your man for the Outrage Sunday! But Pete F is the man for this Subiaco scene. I’m not sure what the Actors Equity rules are for Australian TV made from local and imported ingredients. Perhaps if Evo (‘Saving Ordinary Humans From Themselves’) were part of the show it would be OK.IMAG1645IMAG1644IMAG1643It’d be a TV show that would be awesome in its awesomeness. It’d be awesome squared. It’d be doubly awesome. What level of awesome would it be?orrsum2This is not awesome. I found it on my phone, but I’m sure Krazy Kym took it. I was busy investigating how much Jura you can drink before you get an irresistible urge to roll down the steep lawn at your hotel. nessieThe only asylum seeker in the cous-cous so far this weekend has been anti-Semitism at Woollies. I didn’t notice the Israelis putting carrot in their cous-cous, but perhaps it’s all the rage in teh Pert gastropubs.couscous

The Idea of Garden Bed

Love what Alannah’s doing in Mt Lawley. That a garden bed can be created in the mind of the observer, out of base brick paving, without the need for PVC piping.

Dust to Dust

I was very much hoping that this was going to be visible. Which it is. Just.  A truck turning into Bowra and O’Dea Funerals that has RIP written in dust on the back. Delivering “boxes” perhaps? I would like TWOP to remembered by posts like this. That this happened and was recorded. On the arrondissement.

Moulder and Tag

Shime’s equine battle continues to moulder away as was discussed more than 3 years ago. I guess it will be on Lost Perth’s list in years to come. Shime said he was going to touch it up but, but was sans ladder at the time. He never even got the milk crates by the looks. And now a poor speller is bemoaning the tagging. Possibly in chalk. It’s a little sad. Maybe Alannah can provide funding when she becomes Federal Arts minister in a few months. shime1
