I’ve long had an abiding affection for New Zealand’s south island, and during the three years I spent there met many people not unlike Blair Somerville, a resident of its hairy right cheek.

George Clooney has bought the rights to this story by Joshuah Bearman, so we might see it on the big screen someday. Until then, you can enjoy it in this multimedia format.

Native Garden

A ridiculous garden in Nollamara, by Orbea that although terrible is still kind of touching. I wonder what the Manhattes Bartender will make of this. These sort of garden accoutrements were very common in the 1960s and 1970s.

Nannup Gormley

Yes, I said Gormley: Antony Gormley has moved to Nannup. The British sculptor is refueling on parmy in between his epic installations. His work has taken on a porcine bent: I’m unsure if it has anything to do with the various parmy. For some reason I thought Cockburnians (nee Fremantonians) would be against wind farms. Aren’t they linked to county bumpkins soiling themselves ? Or having dark thoughts? Outrage Sunday 114 The Bunker off the Bumpkobahn

Much from Nannup to share later in the week, including the trophies hanging from the verandah of Shazza’s Blackwood River hideaway! But for now here’s a delightful home west of the Bumpkobahn, just out of the Mandurah blast zone. Why isn’t it a B&B?
