To celebrate 20 000 visitors in the last month, here’s another Worst of Perth classic for yous all. This would be somewhere around 20 years ago at The Firm nightclub, which was upstairs at The Old Melbourne Hotel on the corner of Milligan and Hay Streets West Perth. I can’t remember why I took this. Probably drink related. I’m not sure if it was some special event. I think everyone is just standing around waiting for texting to be invented.
I think it was the 1980’s (or perhaps 90’s) that the unions had a protest and sit in about something, in the ugly little park behind parliament house. I can’t remember what is was about, but it went on for some weeks. When it was over the unions declared triumphant victory, and to demonstrate their power, ta-da! We have the people’s wall. Yes that’s it, a couple of blocks of limestone and a driveway light. This perhaps explains why we all have AWA’s.

Worst Church/Architecture/Saint Removal
As a building, this hideous Church of Christ in Morley Drive Morley could easily make it into The Worst of Perth under its own steam, but look a little closer. What used to be in that suspicious clean patch blow the sinister logo? Looks to me that the statue of some defrocked ethnic saint has been hurriedly removed in the night. Probably by the Masons if the crest is anything to go by.
The Worst of Perth has spies in all the crappiest places. And by crappiest, I mean Wilson. Regarding this house on the corner of Manning Road and Alderley Square, my Familiars tell me that He is Italian, and She is Indonesian. From the look of the place, this combination is as bad as having an English cook and a…well I can’t think of what else. A German accountant? No that doesn’t work, but in any case behold the house. This is the same cursed Road that Birdboot submitted a post for recently.
Worst Graphic Design
While we’re on an automobile theme this week, what’s with the new number plates? Mr XY was not happy with the design of the Breast Cancer numberplate. I have to agree. The new plates are fairly ordinary. I don’t know about the bra as a logo either. What do TWOP fans think? I’m dreading Year of the Prostate, that’s all I can say.
Here’s another bad one. I used to live in Gooseberry Hill, and I never saw one of these creatures alive or dead. And “Darling of The Scarp”? Hmm. No.
Worst Garden
I’m sure that the neighbors of this house on Rothbury Avenue Embleton would have nominated it for worst garden. I’m glad I didn’t live next door, but I’m glad it existed. Last week it was cleared, razed, sanitised and gone forever. Who else but The Worst of Perth would have recorded this for your Perth memory? No-one,that’s who.
Worst Shopfront

Hi, here is the worst shop in Perth picture. It is hard to find something equally ugly than this Polish butcher “Vistula” 305 Lord st, Highgate. Waldek. This is 2005, but it is the same now.

And Mitsubishi wonder why they are going broke. They could save billions by not bolting these ridiculous ironing boards to the back of their cars. I have been chasing one of the new Subarus which has a spoiler that wouldn’t fit under most bridges for two weeks, but was stopped in my tracks by this Mitsu monster. Game set and match Mitsubishi, and please don’t put creases into my jeans.
Has worst of Perth featured on a website or radio or something today? Love to know where the thousands of hits are coming from.
UPDATE. Killabot finally told me we were in The Sunday Times. Thanks guys. I suppose the extended slagging off of The West helped too?
Worst Graphic Design/Sign
OK, so many thought that the cheescake sign wasn’t such bad graphic design, but how about this? You would wonder why a grout cleaner would need police clearance until you see the woman on the van. Is this suggesting she will remove mould orally? Isn’t there some joke about sucking the chrome off a tow ball? (That was a hypothetical question Robotnik, in case you were going to reply to that.)
