Anubis God of Lawyers

Rob F was wondering if it’s just a little too obvious to have Anubis the jackal god adorning the hallway of the law chambers across from the central law courts. Every day on your way to the toilet, you’d be reminded of the jackal’s  role in scavenging from corpses, and Anubis, in his role of embalmer dressing up corruption and decay. Maybe that’s the point? Why not go with his half brother Horus? I mean you could make Whore-Arse out of that, but going straight for Jackal god? I really don’t know about that. I thought he was supposed to hold a flail too, so am a little concerned that he seems to have those vibrating exercise weights that are popular these days. Goes nicely with the Hindu monkey god from the other day though.

JB’s Mobile Sperm Bank

I’ve walked past the Perth Arena site a few times without taking a shot, believing that not much worsting would be available until the terrible design was realised, (apart from the massive budgetary cock-ups by the previous Labor Government and the fact that an event as lame as the Hopman Cup was considered a worthy trigger for wasting tax money on an eyesore,) so it was nice that Tristan H was able to get this.

Weekend Worstoff 126

Outrage Cohen had his poncho, banjo and rohypnol packed for this anti coal rally, but unfortunately it was last year. I believe there was talk of skinnydipping on the website. I wonder how that turned out? Somebody’s sure to be itchin’ in the kitchen after it.Jaidyn Jaxon was worried that the Well of Souls aka arse and boozie sculpture was being replaced by a Cocos palm in She-Ra’s new Forrest Place & cetera development. That’s no Cocos. It’s one of those giant palms that gets put up every time a space opens up in a new roundabout. Don’t know the name of it, but I’m getting a bit sick of them. You know, I miss the arse and boozie. Maybe it should come back? And Chris caught up with the crackpot car I featured previously, and gave it the full coverage. Has this dude never heard of blogging? He could do that drunk, which is harder when your driving.Worst well.

Sign of Three

Chris saw baffling handmade “Baby on Board” signs on Canning Highway South Perth.  Stephie saw that UWA took a more conventional line on the oppression poster. I didn’t see one of these vandalised at Curtin. I suppose that’s good? Or maybe not? And Tittykaka showed what the fight’s about.

Skinful

There is no hunting like the hunting of clams, and those who have hunted bearded clams long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.” Ernest Hemingway

Christoph H saw these bloody skins in Kardinya and rendered the carcasses into an art photo for youse.  Cats, dogs, roos, beavers, or binfuls of waxed ringhole hair? You be the judge. Reminded me of this from April 2009.

Simian God in Canning Vale

I love this scene captured by Paul C. A gold Monkey God out and proud in a Canning Vale garden. I first thought it was the Chinese “irrepressible Monkey”, but I think it may be Hindu God Hanuman. Please correct me if not. I like the suburban sand, the wheelie bin and the gum trees. A pleasing worst, and I think a first for Canning Vale. Side by side with a concrete flamingo with a Cocos rampant would have been perfect. I might have to make this a not worst.

Raunch Culture

Mystery solved. The ute chicks were in town for this. There’s a Socialist alternative now? I have been advocating giving Communism another try, but Socialism? Whoa! A step too far baby. I’m sure there would be many photo ops at this, the attendees, the forces of Teh Man sent to disrupt it, as well the built environment, but I can’t make it.

Country Ute Chicks

The Inseminators Ball was last weekend, but no sign of it was seen by us city folk, no bad posters, no piss rings, no burnout arena, no tit splashin’, no nothin! But as Bento has seen, some of the country was up here as Country Ute Chicks hit town, finding Stirling Street as wide open as Merredin. Sometimes I wonder about the country. They go all suicidey unless we pour our money down their country outdoor crappers, but are determined to look like retards while they soak up our smartarse city cash. I notice another worst in the background. What used to be Mal Atwell’s pool table flogging shop is now some kind of crackpot christian den. Severe downturn in shop use. First pic enlargeable.

The Rules of Banking

Now what the hell is this all about? Too many questions. Is Pavlich throwing out the rules of banking? Is he endorsing the rules of banking? It looks like he needs glasses, so maybe he has to hold the rules of banking at a distance to read them? Or throw them out? Shouldn’t he be at least kicking the book that is the rules of banking? How does a squinting South Australian holding an old book illustrate the point of thinking differently about banking? Why is the book so old if you’re to think differently. Who is responsible for this shambles of an ad?

Also, on another topic, I loved Shane Wright Economics Editor in yesterday’s West, (which I picked up in the Quokka Arms while waiting for the ferry),opining that sending money to the bush was a total waste, country people were ignorant and uninnovative, and that the cities are where it’s at for everything except yokel wearing bumpkinism. Bravo.

Surely they are innovative in whingeing though Shane?

Celebrating Hangovah

This installation behind Perth Mosque suggested some kind of Jewish theme to Paul C, but perhaps more likely to be the work of TAFEcuntz from the Perth Chapter instead. Those are candles, yes. Edward De Bozo used to live very close to here. Perhaps he can explain.
