I’m half inclined to vote this council election, but in my ward, this bloke seems most likely. I’m not voting for the others. If you’ve been in council for 25 years – no. It’s over. But Jonathan Jones is an architect. I don’t want to vote for him and find he’s a Shedist who has mini-orbed the city from arsehole to breakfast. Can’t find what he has done. Can’t find him anywhere. Unless he is the Jonathan Jones who designed the new Eisteddford Centre in Swansea. Can anyone help me out? Vegan? Bento? Matt (is this Google alert thingy working) Buckels? If someone can point out something he’s done that isn’t standard shithouse Perth architecture, then he’s got my vote.

I’ve never voted in a council election before, but Dan Bull is getting my cross next to his name. Only because he’s been in Eskimo Joe and Sleepy Jackson. Is enough.

I’d like each and every one of our local govt. candidates to sign a pledge that she/he brooks no truck with either alternative music or the environment. I’m getting mixed messages from this guy’s ensemble. Could be a Pearl Jam fan. Who may not be alternative.

Bento – AIA is not really relevant. The question was something like “Are you or have you been registered with the Architects Board of WA”.
TLA – If he was previously registered and is not currently he would likely be on the Non-Practicing register, Which he doesn’t seem to be. So maybe he never was, maybe he was de-registered, maybe he specifically didn’t want to be identified even as a non-practicing Architect….either way it is interesting I think.

People with a uni degree in architecture are often called architects . But they aren’t allowed to practice independently without some years ‘ internship , successful state board certification exam results , current indemnity insurance , up to date rego fees , CPD and all that good stuff . Institute membership optional .
After 4 years in Perth any thing s possible , even this .
