Dead Kennedy

Did Lisa She-Ra Scaffidi get control over Kings Park? Or did it die in the arse with Bong Banning Barnett’s boundary bungling? If she has it, perhaps she can turn her attention to Governor Kennedy’s Fountain. I seem to remember that crackpots used to extol the vibrancy of its water, filing filthy plastic containers with its life draining goodness. Now. Not. In the pink

Business news and financial reports on pink newsprint? What a great idea! Charlotte loved today’s West: her only complaint the organ was too small at 60 pages.

Green Speed Cameras

There’s talk of tripling the number of speed cameras in Perth. Reign of Error noticed this one that had gone native. And then got fined by the police for taking the photo of it! Kudos ROE. Kardinya.

Outrage Sunday 185 North Perth Bowling Club

I had to apologise to DBC Pierre on Friday for the lack of relentless blue sky. It was awkward. I will direct his attention to this outstanding series, from Mr Underbury via Bento. “The North Perth Bowls Club smoking area, formally opened by Alannah MacTiernan,” our sock-sorting comrade says. “Only 3 years old. But the seats appear to have been salvaged from the old #305 from Lesmurdie to Perth.” Beautiful. IMG_6054IMG_6055IMG_6053IMG_6056IMG_6052

Open Worsting

Was suggested we have an open post for Saturdays.  One topic. Why won’t people stop saying “Baby Gammy”?

And regarding the Peppermint Grove post the other day, J H pointed me towards the excellent Peppy Grove Wanker. Also Peppy Grove wankering slightly differently on Twitter if you prefer. Which you would if you lived south of the river I guess.

Wot?

So socialism has even infected the buying of Mazdas? I have said previously that I haven’t bought the Sunday Times since the short sighted pricks axed Bennett’s Beat and the Timespool. But this…is…something…else. By Andrew D.

Berry good

A colleague enjoyed the conflation of berry content in today’s paper of record. “Were you affected by the 2008 Chinese milk scandal? Call in now!”

Tone it

Tone it or get off the pot. NF#1. Warwick. NF#1 claims to have lived here. No doubt on the corner of Penistone and Cockman.

Picture Show Man

Andrew D captured a couple of bumpkin movie palaces. How beautiful is Teh Meeka? Even Mt Magnet has a certain pencil pine charm. Obviously the shite they will be playing, and the paying customers will be no oil paintings, but still. The Meeka did have a display admitting a certain smell to the place, but why spoil it? Not worst.

Laminate Blues

Saw a poodle in a jacket fastened with a pin,
Saw a door opened and a cat let in:
But they weren’t Peppermint Grove residents, my dear, but they weren’t Peppermint Grove residents.

Walked through a wood, saw the turds near the trees;
They had no politicians and sang at their ease:
They weren’t Peppermint Grove residents , my dear, they weren’t the human race.
