No Picnic

It’s just this sort of arsefoolery that will turn people against refugees. If they weren’t already. From Solari in Melbourne. At least draw some balls on the picnic. C’mon! And may I add another irrational hatred? Of course I may. John Waters is still doing looking through a Glass Onion? Does he intend to play it until the last baby boomer is cold in their grave? Dude, enough is enough. I like that he releases an original album, then stuffs up the bookings and doesn’t do the shows, but the relentless Glass Onion rolls on forever. Original album? Surely the theme from Rush would be onion

John is dead – he died in a car crash during the making of Cloudland to be replaced by a look- and sound-alike. LIsten carefully to the lyrics of “Can’t Let Go,” Cloudland’s eighth track, backwards, and tell me it ain’t so.

I’m pretty sure that Waters was doing glass onion back when I was at high school…

    “Cun’t Let Go” indeed.

  3. Russell Wolfe's Lovechild says:

I would like to see Shannon Noll doing a Glass Onion tribute tour.

Sometimes it’s good to have grown up in America. We don’t have to endure as many John Lennon tributes. Who the fuck is John Waters anyway?

google youtube “Rush” abc tv 1974, and “the olden days” by the late show

      That’ll be on Backchat.

I’d get behind John Waters doing a cover version…only of the opening song to the D-Gen’s The Olden Days. Mind you, he didn’t seem at all to mind his appearance in Rush being lampooned by The Late Show, with he and co-star Brendon Lunney (who played what became Governor Frontbottom) voicing over Mick Molloy and Tony Martin (who re-voiced those two respectively) talking about the donor show, appearing soon after to receive thanks and a bouquet each for being such good sports in all this pisstakery.

“Men came from Cooper’s Crossing and Darwin in the south…”, ahh such great memories from my late adolescence. But I agree, John Waters has been doing that show for quite a while now, hasn’t he? I did see it in 1994 myself, ’twas OK, but I’ll go back to the source and watch Imagine—John Lennon or The Beatles Anthology if I want to hear some choice insights and anecdotes from the wit of Lennon.
