Eyeing Baldivis Nuts

“…age-old evil, tireless and googly, cloaked from the masses by modern skepticism, yet still a potent force stalking the dark ways of the night.”
— Dennis Wheatley (The Gumnut with Googly Eyes Rides Out)

The gumnut with googly eyes has long been a stalwart of Perth art worsting. Now this obscenity moves into the realm of desperate real estate flogging. A medium where the gumnut googly eye is just as at home. From the House of WAtching.

I’ve been thinking about moving to Baldivis, if only to escape this guy.

I always wondered what he was the member for…

A terse letter from the Shire of Kalamunda is in the mail. This is surely some sort of trademark violation.

Would it have been so hard for WAtching to step out of his House and get a bit closer to the sign?

I had to go to The Rivergums website to see the googly-eyed gumnuts up close.

“Discover a healthier, more relaxed way of life.

“Nestled in Baldivis, a beautiful scenic pocket just 40kms south of Perth, The Rivergums embraces its natural surroundings by allowing you to live with nature, not against it.

“Already home to over 350 families, The Rivergums is a HIA GreenSmart accredited estate featuring sculptured lakes and wetlands, landscaped parklands and abundant natural bushland.”

driving home along the new highway, I saw two shipping containers in a cow paddock draped with a picture of Don Randall, MP for Canning.

it was somewhere near the silver cork things south of Mandurah.

looking at his website, Randall seems to be trying to take credit for building the bypass, possibly single handed with a shovel.

never have I seen any billboard more demanding of a Hitler moustache and fringe.

reminds me of the scarecrow in ‘League of Gentlemen’

Don Randall is possibly THE most hated person in the Liberal Party, and that’s from inside the Libs, let alone from outside the party.

It seems they dispensed with the ‘terse letter’, and proceeded straight to ‘burn the fuckers, BURN THEM!’

This has been brewing for some time.

First Rockingham started stealing away Kalamunda’s British seniors monopoly. Then Baldivis came for Bickley’s crown as ‘most unlikely metro wine region’. Safety Bay has out-boganed High Wycombe for the last 2 censuses. But when they came for the googly-eyed gumnuts, it was fucking on like Donkey Kong.
