The opening day for the revamped Inside Cover was reviewed here yesterday, but Skink has been doing some excellent animation work that illustrates the state of play a lot better. The Broadfield and Hatch relationship is the classic story of the old silverback who knows he’s on the way out, trying every trick to stop the young buck from taking the harem. Skink’s hidden cameras reveal the real story of the shrinking Daniel Hatch byline.
And here’s the animated version of the new Inside Cover, with Broadfield demonstrating his comic………timing.
Skink has been doing some excellent work. Can I reccommend his Paul Murray Easter Message.
Why does Mr Hatch sound South African?

You’ve left out Mr Hatch’s improbably chiselled jawline too…

I should point out that there are only limited options for the characters in Xtranormal. there are only four english-speaking voices: two American, one British and one Australian. Hence they tend to all sound the same.
I also have no idea what the ‘Hot Hatch’ looks like, except that many ladies, and the Lazy Aussie, seem to start dripping like broken fridges when he is near.

Wrong team.
If there are only four voices, how does 3D Patti sound Indian?

Here you go, skink. I think the xtranormal version is an excellent likeness.
May I just reiterate that for mine, it’s the limitations of this kind of software which are actually the key to their charm. They’re animated Clarke and Dawes, and all the better for it.

yes, I have been alerted to my error regarding Daniel.
my apoligies to him, and to any ladies who may be disappointed.
there are four English voices, plus an Indian, French, and Japanese, maybe some others, but the pronounciation is a bit hit and miss with those.
I agree that the limitations are the key. there are some other more realistic figures available, but the Lego figures with their stilted delivery seem to work best, especially for people with plastic personalities who, as LA says, lack comic … timing.

Speaking of Daniel Hatch, here he is circa 2004 and his appearance on the ABC’s Outback House, which has just finushed a repeat run on ABC1 where he was one of the Sheperds :-) If it wasn’t for him m entioning it on Twitter, I would never had recognised him – he looks nothing like he does on IC :-)

This post has introduced me to Xtranormal. Goodbye productivity, hello pointlessness!
Also, can they just highlight which bits are hatch’s and which are Broadshields so I can know which to ignore?

Genius, the robotic speech actually enhances the comedy.

Xtranormal is down for maintenance, and with my short attention span, I’ll forget all about it by tomorrow.
