The Fresh Prince of Hutt River

A submission combining a worst with a very nice photo from Janine. “Fresh” Prince Leonard and the Hutt River province. Is it really still going?I’ve always thought it must be chockers with worst. Send more.

Janine says…

Given that you seem to be on a bit of a roll with all things sculpted from limestone by the same talentless yankee sculptor, i thought you might like this sculpture of prince leonard of hutt river, snapped on sunday, along with some other very ugly sculptures and buildings. perhaps the tourists come to see the crap art? because you couldn’t really be coming for the prince len show could you..?

It looks like a high-traffic area.

Went there in 96 and had Prince Len give us the tour while Princess Sheila mowed the lawn. Phil and Liz could learn a lot from them.

    Len is a bloke
    with one joke
    he takes quite seriously
    at other times deliriously
    this makes him a loony.

i was tempted to buy a postcard of princess shirl in her royal regalia as she bears a striking resemblance to margaret whitlam, but i just couldn’t bring myself to hand over any money to prince len. in the 5 minutes we were inside the ‘post office’ he managed to part a few european tourists from about $250.

Fresh hell more like it, TLA. On Len for spotting the loophole, though.

Is that really limestone ? I suspect even the termites got so bored that they became creative. I do like the star pickets and rope … ummm … star pickets and rope. Perhaps that’s where the bouncers get the punters to queue ?

Snuff, I think the rope is there to stop people pissing on the tree. It obviously has enormous environmental significance.

I always liked HRP. There’s a map on sale down an ally way in Subi. At $75 for a frame mono print I could pass.
