Pert City Summit

I attended The Perth City Summit, held at 8:30 am on Saturday, (presumably in order to avoid serving free piss). Fare was scones and mini croissants. Not a mini quiche to be seen! Teh second string Verity James was in the chair, i.e. James Lush. Or was he playing barrel girl to the newsreader that I didn’t recognise? Vo?Voss? Something. There was a palpable anti She-Ra Scaffidi air to the event, falling just short of hisses. It wasn’t all a total waste of time. A lot of mush, like John Carey’s by the numbers played as Ted Talk lite “inspiration”, and a lot of worthy but meaningless proposals. Upliftingly, if I may put it that way, the cablecar was lolled off the agenda. There were some actual specifics that could perhaps get done amongst the “have a strategy for this” or  “be more of this”. It was at the Convention Centre. A Segway tour went by. In summary, everything from red tape to parking fees for events seemed to be She-Ra Scaffidi’s fault somehow. Things I did like:
Night Cat Bus
Swimming Pool in city
Indigenous Mayor (our table)
Night Mayor, (because I could totally be that)

I get it, this is why the end of twop approaches. You’re part of the machine now.

Nice little earner for the ALPBC B list by the sounds of it. Tough gig waiting for something to open up at the staff co-op. Harder than becoming a new Australian wicket keeper.

I must ask Dad why he left if he ever calls me.

‘ The cable car has always been with us … it is only waiting for the right moment to appear and take over … ‘

‘ The present-day cable car refuses to die … ‘

‘ The cable car returned as soon as artists started to come to closer grips with reality than naturalistic representation permitted … ‘

Apologies to Bjork , Tristan Tzara , and Siegfried Giedion but some things never do change

Not even Dada could shake up Teh Pert. John Day would’ve buried it.

There are alleged and secret plans to bury the foreshore drive along langley park between causeway and narrows bridge ( site of present day segway processions ) so it may be surmounted by 24+ storey mixed use residential redevelopment at water s edge .

A sort of ‘ clean sand ‘ inner city apartment lifestyle which , as at e-quay its forerunner , will become attractively and self-fulfillingly venetian during our certain and future acqua altas .

That is to say , vibrant .

Hope this was lolled off the agenda too but was it even on it in first place ?

The late Day probably fancied cablecars between casino and kalamunda , but what harm can he do now ?

This is the way the TWOP ends, not with a bang, but a whimper

  6. Sir, it is in the nature of things that if the person at the helm ,on the bridge , should be in the brig , then stormy waters are ahead with the ship adrift. Thus with the august , prestititigious position of President of the United States as with Lord Night Mayor of Perth. Are they to blame for everything , most certainly yes and esprit de corpse will not be restored amongst the ranks until they are removed.

Verity’s getting a bit long in the tooth now, isn’t she? Her whole demeanour has been listless and uninspiring lately.
