    Much like the signs erected on a popular walk trail in Denmark (WA) saying:
    “Beware of Snakes”.

    The bridge is over a weir. On the other side is a deep and safe swimming hole – that’s what the sign is more referring to (although I prefer to think our local council meant it the way you’ve shown it).
