A pity it wasn’t a chocolate milkshake. Those things look like vomit after a few hours.

Did they catch the person who threatened the slushie machines?

Having just read today’s West I have another, really worst, Worst: the new proposed office block for legal eagles that will overshadow the Grosvenor (I can’t scan it in but it’s in the property section).

Don’t council’s do things like, oh, I don’t know, have regard to how a building will fit in with its surrounds?

I know the Grosvenor’s soul was ripped out years ago when that person (persons? I always heard it was the one) complained about the LOUD MUSIC, and it has since been yuppified to within an inch of its life, but this new building is so horrendous, so clashing with the Grosvenor and the Perth Mint, that I felt I had to type something.

And here seemed the appropriate place.

Even lawyers need a local venue to sell their wine.

Two storey buildings in the inner city will inevitably be overshadowed. If we keep trying to protect them by restricting surrounding land to low-rise, low-density development, all we’ll be left with is a bunch of old shitholes, and a bunch of mediocre new shitholes.

    It was only one.

But the owners didn’t fight it at all. In retrospect, they were probably looking for an excuse.

Worked out real well, hasn’t it? The place is constantly dead now.

dont worry about the grosvenor, which was rightly famous for its strip and skimpy shows as well as a local music venue

the hydey is where the trouble will be, Woolworths have tried to shut down music there once by claiming noise for residents is an issue, when it isnt, and now there is a huge redevelopment going through town of vincent to build a quarter acre walk in bottle shop
