Let me tell you a story…

about a corflute emu oom ba da little da da da. Myers. Sorry to bring to mind the ever terrible John Williamson. Hey true blue *puke* once again I ask how American Country can be really good, but Aussie Country is relentlessly bad? The corflute emu is no oil painting either, and I don’t think that dress would cover boozie one.corflute

American country music is shit too. Like this dress.

Gotta love wide breasted women though. Shame the skirt is so long otherwise you could expect to see a few of these at that celebration of Worst, the Perth Cup.

My first visit to a Myer store, Melbourne, February 1965, elicited a gut wrenching “Jeezus christ, what sort of shit country have I landed myself in??” and “Fuck me gently, do people actually pay these prices for this shit??”

It was my introduction to just how successful the retail con job had been here.

Little has changed in their efforts, but the ready availability of alternative information and sources of supply has, at long last, bitten in to the gross profits that these parasites were extracting from an unsuspecting populus.

It seems, though, that the ‘dumb punter’ lives on and is happy to be taken for a ride in pursuit of a bit of ‘glamour’ in their otherwise dull existences.

It is, after all, their money; but what a waste of time, effort and artistic endeavour.
(The same, of course, as might be said of the whole advertising industry.)

Definitely “Worst”, but lacking in any redeeming comedy.

  4. I get a kinda racist vibe. Black mannequins next to an Ostrich. Because, we all know an African doesn’t go anywhere without their Ostrich.
