Could the half arsedness of CHOGM be better celebrated than with this “CHOGM – whatever dude.” floral display? Could we not have felled  Cocoses spelling “Tinpot tyrants and Canada, Fuck off we’re not full.”? Lovely shot by Leandra F.chogm perth

are they flowers? I was rather hoping they were empty beer cans. Swan Gold for yellow and Fosters for blue. That would be classy as.

hopefully some rurutards in a ute will do some circle work around it before the dignitaries arrive, just to cut up the grass.

  3. As usual LA hits the nail with his head. Is Australia a tin pot tyranny ruled over by corrupt mining oligarchs? No doubt Barney will attend resplendent in a funny hat and uniform.
Why hold government events in Perth otherwise ?Is Canada a tin pot tyranny for that matter ?
Also will fake Canada attend ala APEC ?

I’ve been trying to get a pic of the antichogm stickers. Do they not realise that Barney is actually a fellow traveller? By the time this thing is over no-one in Perth will ever want to see (have traffic disrupted by) another tinpot despot & after arriving via the Perth Airport & Great Eastern Hwy none of the attendees will want to come back either.
Barney then runs around chanting FTFY, its back to backwater for us!

Is it just me or is that garden bed positioned arse about?

I can’t imagine many of the delegates are going to filing up to the top of the Bell Tower to check out what is says. Maybe if it was some some sort of floral porno depicting the wedding night of the Duke of Cambridge you’d get a few of them up there but I’m pretty sure most of them would have staff to tell them they were at CHOGM and the year was 2011.

Surely someone will pour 5 litres of petrol on that and set fire to it before CHOGM actually happens? It can’t stay pretty like that, it just shouldn’t happen.

TLA – are you one of the chosen few? From CHOGM FAQs – Can I still Volunteer?

Applications for CHOGM volunteers have now closed, however there was an overwhelming response to the call for volunteers earlier this year. More than 1000 applications were received for 500 positions.

From the link above: “Floral murals at selected entry points to the city will feature flowers planted in shapes of the CHOGM logo, the City of Perth crest and even the alphabet letters to spell out CHOGM.”

    EVEN THE ALPHABET LETTERS.

    Be still, my heart.

Certainly, if you feel it is appropriate.

The Hall still stands and demolition has been moved off into some distant imaginary date.

Alas, some incredible architecture in towns such as Prattsville and Windham has been severely compromised or entirely destroyed, including the Pratt Mansion, a historic museum with an irreplaceable collection of letters, early documents, colonial-era books and musical instruments. Lexington, featured in these pages, had its iron bridges swept completely away.
