I don’t know…are they talking about a tastefully-placed David, or plonking some huge bronze buttocks at the markets? Are we going to see Rokeboozies Road? Hmmm.

That’s just stupid……and boring. (The article, not the post.) Firstly, I can’t imagine why a CPAP business would fail just because the footy fans are going elsewhere. And since when did the footy crowd combine shopping with footy? Unless it’s for beer and kebabs? The reality is, landlords in Perth are greedy fuckers and businesses can’t afford the rent.

How many driller’s offsiders do you need on a judging uglies panel ?

Strictly speaking he is an offsiders offspring. Enlighten me, how many?

How to untangle this one ? Judging uglies is not a reference to your son’s comment on Vic Pk art (see https://theworstofperth.com/2014/06/20/victoria-park-90210/#comment-438189) . Urbandictionary ( http://www.urbandictionary.com/) can help: see “rubbing uglies”.
Next question “How many” , maybe the whole panel. Perhaps you’d also need a few of the clergy, Troy Buswell and other lunimaries.

The CPAP dispensary should simply convert to an oxygen bar. Those who do not pay the tab shall be labelled oxygen thieves.

Subiaco’s been in terminal decline for years. Vibrant urban infill viz. Subi Centro somehow didn’t make up for closure of Pavillion and astronomical commercial rents on Rokeby Rd. Football yobs never spent money except at Subi and Vic (or whatever it’s called now) hotels. Squandered opportunities up the juxie.

Yeah that too, as well as a supremely avaricious local council.

Hay/Rockeby are becoming the new old Beaufort. Many of the vacant arrondiss shops are now tenanted. except for this sad case. Is this really 6 years ago? 6 years of lost rent.

I hope this will be a lesson to the property-owners along Beaufort Street. They are already jacking up the rents and forcing the small independent retailers out of the ‘Disse. Without the small indies it will lose its vibe turn into Rockeby Road.
I saw Alexei Sayle at the Regal in about ’95: ‘Subiaco, Subiaco? Is that Italian for ‘shit shops’?’

It really is desolation in Subi. Subi, like Freo was a place you used to go to as a destination. Now. Not.

But will the new boozies bolster and boost the hubbub??
LikeLike
Boozies won’t help them. The Beaufort Bunny has already got the march on them with both boozies and ballsacks. Subi has missed the boat on yarn-bombing and cocktails in jam jars too.
They need to jump ahead and seize tehe zeitgeist. Book burning is the next trend, I hear.

A Cuban Book Burning cafe on Hay. Wait that’s not a bad idea! Bring along a book to Burn!
LikeLike
the problem is, if Subi did that then Beaufort Street would say: ‘We only burn fair-trade books by South American writers in their indigenous language. Burning Cuban books is so pass-ay!’

I think it would be a great cafe. Serve Cuba Libres, discuss a book, and if you don’t like it, you burn it. Even if you do like it you burn it.
