Rocky

Unfortunately soft focus but otherwise wonderful plate celebrating the first boat to be set on fire by drunken youths in Rockingham, home of Mark, slightly damp teatowel McGowan, and demonstrating his transport plan. The steam train is unloading bales of Marijuana. Note the Po’Boy tree (formerly blackboys) too. Village to violent craphole. By Dan. Found in Guildford.rocking

is there buggery going on in the foreground there?

I believe it was popular in the early days of the colony when women were scarce, and in the navy too.

    wasn’t McGowan in the navy?

not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Rum, blackboys’ bum and the lash , of course, are the founding principles of the Royal Navy. This was all before Father Murphy’s orphanage and Rolf Harris. Here in this tableaux is depicted the 159 th celebrations of the founding of the great city of Rockingham.

I think a commemorative plate is a perfect way to commemorate the … um … 159th anniversary of the founding of Rockingham.

Few know the Settlement of Rockingham was founded when Captain James Stirling punched one of the local Nyoongar elders, causing him to hit his head on the ground, and die of his injuries a few days later.

159 years seems an odd number for a commemorative plate. They don’t even add up to 23.
