Miner Vagina

Poignant and actually beautiful shots from Jaidyn Jaxxon, showing the desk in the eastern goldfields from which fifo’s and dido’s call their girlfriends. yes that is a giant vagina, etched in by generations of ball points. And yes, it does look a little like the superpit. Oddly, actually unbelievably, South Hedland hasn’t been inked in.

I like the free association that links a big fanny to a can of VB and a death-head skull.
it’s like a big Jungian road map of the FIFO subconscious.
I’m not sure where the umbrella and the saucepan fit in

The design is not quite box cut, but it does highlight the target’s original strike length. Also, is that a portel at the pit’s northern end? Luckily the outline doesn’t include any depth extensions – otherwise we’d be faced with the hanging wall … Also, the hole seems to be contiguous with the outcrop seen at the bottom (centre right) of the map. If so, this protrubance could well be a gossan and contact with it should be avoided by the pit operator – when isolated from any other nearby geological anatomy, gossans are usually low grade.
