Outrage Cohen worsts Town Of Vincent Mayor.

I had to rage at Tuesday’s council meeting: the nefarious Nick banned Voice reporter Andrei Buters from the media table. The poor reporter incurred the wrath of Hizzoner (who was a pedestrian Labor MP) for daring to ring up councillors and ask them questions. Fancy! – a journalist calling people to get their opinions. Nick wants to nix it. I asked Nicky five questions: four were taken on notice.

As you can see from the pic, he was red-faced, had crabby eyes and looked uninspiring.

At this rate the people of Vincent will be Voice-less.

He looks a bit like Wilson Tuckey at this resolution Outrage.

Helen took a classic worst down Fremantle way. Funny that just that letter came down. Coincidence?

And a nice one from The Cookster. Not Cockster note, those cock waving days are behind him. No-one say Cockster. Quite poignant with the flowers sign. Art almost.

I have never understood the love of Councils in this place, they should get rid of the lot have one same as Brisbane, and get on with it look at the money they would save.
How many CEOS budging Real Estate people and various spivs with there hands in ratepayers pockets, they would save millions

Not so much a love of councils, John R., as a profound resistance to change.

The councils evolved out of the old ‘Roads Boards’ set up in the days when the only effect means of communication was by “road” by which you should understand ‘sand track’.

Localised administration was a necessity back then but, as always, was soon bastardised by perfidious financial interests.

As commercial operators are rarely happy with changes to the parameters that they have become accustomed to manipulating for their own purposes, they naturally resist anything that means that they will have to think up some new stratagems with which to benefit themselves.

That may involve the use of intelligent thought as well as visceral cunning, putting many of them at a considerable disadvantage.

And, TLA, are you not cognisant of the revelries held there, especially ballroom dancing; the definition of which is:
“A Naval Engagement Without Loss of Seamen”.

  4. People continue to whinge about over government, but if you suggest taking away a council, they’re agin it because the government is for it.

I just got my copy of the Voice, with “Vincent declares War..” on the front, and a photo of DFOC doing his best “you talking to me?” stare

That pic of Catania makes him look like a character out of Dickens. Hunch-backed, with massive upper arms. And is that a statue of Buddha on the table in front of him? A play for the Vietnamese vote?
