did you see the program on the glass artist Tom Moore on tele last night?
Fabulously mad guy making amazing glass fish – and potatoes with eyes.
Throws this fish into “bass” relief really

Fugly non-tetrapod chordate, TLA, but that stockman ashtray is interesting. Any details on that ?

Is it really Wembley Ware?
I only discovered WW the other day (I can be a bit of a slow learner). I was writing a Wikipedia article on Lance Brisbane and came across a Stateline episode on WW. It was Lance’s idea.
‘The first product was the Cruet Set. To avoid paying a high sales tax the piece was fashioned into a salt and pepper shaker and a mustard dish. It was extremely popular, and hundreds more pieces of functional fancy tableware and other items followed, such as ashtrays in unusual shapes.’

I hope you schnapped it up, TLA. They’re asking $245 for it here. This stuff is amazing. Is this a lamp, a vase, or simultaneously both, like this perfect gift for our safety minded friends.

… and the ashtray while you were at it. They want $310 for it here.

My dearly departed Nanna had a WW dhufish vase that would have attracted a pretty penny if my sister hadn’t broken the fucking tail off.
But I do have in my posession four highly glazed WW desert bowls.

I knew you were partial to a roll, Cookster, but in the desert ? North Freo must run like a competition billiard table after that.

The dhufish vase was beautiful. When in use, it looked like it was vomiting flowers. An ex of mine had heaps of WW 25 years ago, bought from op shops for 20c a piece. When she left I sold the lot at a garage sale, damnit! At those prices, it might have made a decent retirement fund.
