The old roots, shoots and leaves joke on educational display at Lake Cave Augusta. Is that appropriate for children? Or adults? I also include a shot that I had to blow up severely, but couldn’t get it clear enough for its own post. Someone has added a “t” possibly in lipstick to Wanneroo Rd to make it Wanneroot road. Ahh, the simple pleasures. Balcatta.

Superb! I once heard “eats roots and leaves” as a clue on a kids’ quiz show. The host was smirking. I was laffing.
I think I was on SWOT at the time.

Jim Maxwell was discussing wombats with Phil Tuffnell during the cricket recently. Tuffers was doing his best Peter Cook impression and asked Jim what these creatures eat. “Roots, shoots and leaves,” Jim said to much mirth in the commentary box.
