I willz NEVER rest – Freo is Labor Heartland – that’ll teach the fools who voted for the 12 yr old who dresses up in mummy’s work clothes.

Frank I suspect I will live to regret getting involved in this discussion but I do think the reason the Greens got up in Freo is slightly broader than the reason you cite.
I like to think I am the Freo eyes and ears for TWOP (apart from Solarion Solaris of course), being a resident of this most beautiful town. And I reckon you’ll find the demographic shift that has been occuring in and around Fremantle post Americas Cup will go some way to explaining the Labor loss also.
We are a green bunch down here and Labor hasn’t really kept it’s finger on the Freo pulse. I reckon it has been taken as a bit of a given by Laborites that this electorate would always vote their way therefore they didn’t need to put in much effort, rather focus on marginal seats.
The people have spoken. Well me on behalf of the people. Personally I don’t think it will take too long before Labor are back in with a few constituent sweeteners.

Maybe so,but remember the Ferals who live in Freo have now learnt the hard way with the Transport of Lead – Adele is one lone voice in the lower house, she has no major party support besides her fellow greens in the upper house, and when the announcement was made she was strangely quiet, except for a spot on ABC TV, the main Greens spokesperson was their South Metropolitain Upper House member.
