Beauty and The Butcher

This is a lovely photo by Illusiver from the town of Brookton in the wheatbelt. Brookton’s famous Avenue de Beaute draws people from as far away as Corrigin and Shackleton. The butcher can do the odd botox treatment or bust enhancing surgery if there’s a queue at the salon. Brendon Grylls had his lips done in this very butcher’s shop.

Thanks Illusiver. Cute.

Iv’e had my hair butchered by many a hairdresser, and have to say I find this honesty refreshing.

Nah the work of at least three people. The happy bloke from Clackatime, the bloke up Feck O’Lannie Rd (named after some politician lost in the mist of time) and the Kiwi bloke who took over Shoot ‘n Reap farm ( turn his hand to anything). All increasing their people potential.

It’s not quite this, is it?

Air-conditioning, a bin AND a seat, they’re getting pretty fancy over in Brookton.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… I love your blog!

The barbecue/haircut is a woefully under represented activity.

I’m reliably informed by a denizen of Brookton that this photo is very out of date. The hairstylist changed ownership, new owner changed the curtains with the result that they now have a month long waiting list! Go Brookton! Simple steps towards economic recovery.
As the Brooktonian put it to me: “We from Brookton are simply folk. We don’t need grammar or expensive signs. We get it. Brendan gets it.”
