Rite

Seems to me the price of 50c per pie WAS rite. For customers, but not necessarily for business. Reign of Error sends in a rare worst that crosses art and wortsery. The lame stencil means this must be Carlisle. Existence is suffering no?rite1 rite2 rite3 rite4

Oh man, youse are giving me a dose of Vic Park nostalgia hey.

Used to love living around the corner on Beatty Ave and taking a quick stroll Past the old Rite Price to the Carlisle Hotel for a cold king brown on those still summer nights, the express train from Armadale barrelling through the Mint Street crossing like Barry Cable tearing through the midfield at Lathlain Park.

“Phwoar” I’d say as the first sip of Emu Bitter passed my parched lips and the local youths ran chiaking into the train reserve and I dodged the remains of a smashed longneck under the jaundiced light of a streetlamp as the small bats circled overhead like tiny planes seeking clearance to land at Jandakot airport…

Oh shit. Did I just start Wintoning? Sorry guys. Nostalgia’s a powerful thing.

Joel, I empathise, I do. There’s nothing more Wintonesque than a Vic Park wheeliebin, lid open, panting in the Antipodean summer…

This is now a vanished worst – it has been demolished over the weekend.
