As Kalamunda Shire lets the side down so much so that some people are welcoming their potential Belmont overlords, it is up to Gooseberry Hill to provide the satirical artwork. Guernica like in its scope, this piece depicts the yoked and abused Kalamunda town planners harnessed to the palm filled trailer of Kalamunda council on its way (could it but move) to close down any interesting businesses in town. Maybe more Dead Souls than Guernica.

I like it. All it needs is a corpulent Grim Reaper, representing Colin Barnett, seated astride the skeletonic horse, armed with a massive whip, and beating the neddy (which could also dually represent the flogging of the W.A. finances to within an inch of its life – besides the flogging the councils have been getting, over almagamations).
You’d better go easy on the continuous use of this “Belmont overlords” phrase.
The Kalamundians will be picking up on it soon, getting seriously paranoic, and digging in like American Preppers and arming themselves to the hilt.
