Offhand demolish New York

BSWAM wants to let us know what New York is currently casually demolishing – for no real reason. Jesus. Rizzoli’s Bookshop going. But they are taking the chandelier. Also a disregarded front entrance I would love to have at home.

    The developer’s name is Vornado. Which rhymes with “tornado”. As in “it looks like a tornado just hit this place”.

    Demolition permits have been issued.

    On the other hand, the Manhattan Borough President is suggesting a mandated review of any building older than 50 years prior to redevelopment even if the building is not a landmark or in a historic district. Rizzoli may prove to be the Pennsylvania Station of its day in its effect on preservation in Midtown.
