Stuber sent this from downtown Dianella (from Spencer Street, aka Perth’s Qianmen.) I’ve heard of Dunroamin before but Dunvegan?

Dunrenderin, it must be one of the last flock of bats around that hasn’t been.

I do like the 2 mint condition period patio chairs, reminiscent of Turnstiles on Stirling st.

    • Bag O'Turnips says:

The red barkface bricks, totally faded cement roof tiles, the fat venetian blinds and the lettering used—that slightly skanky font ubiquitous of small apartment complexes built between 1969 and 1973—wonderful. All we need out the front in addition to those red chairs are an early Valiant and an Austin Maxi aka the Land Crab. Then you’d think you’d have stepped into a Perth version of Life On Mars.

Perhaps the “native” garden also. The standard grey bleached woodchips, the odd struggling kangaroo paw and of course Neville the concrete Aboriginal, standing guard on one leg, with the other foot resting on the knee.

    Troy’s bachelor pad?

Another fine example of the misappropriation of names from “home” by R/E developers et al.

Dunvegan St Applecross the residents are all lapsed vegetarians, its written into the restrictive covenants.
They have meatatarian barbeques before the key parties

I don’t know what you want from me
Or what you think a love ought to be
I want something that smells as strong
As the chair you’re sitting on
    From Fremantle to the chamber
Just make sure that no one blames ya
    Turgid necks and swollen asses
    Pray no-one alerts the masses
One heart, one way, one love
To share but not to chain
It’s a song of the heart
    A race in the wind
    A light in the dark
I don’t know why it takes so long
    To remember
    What the world’s doin’ wrong
Never wanted to be known as a pervert
    With restless hands
All I want is a fast lane
    To where the Party broads
    Won’t complain
I want to savour your hams
    To make us stand proud
    As nothing else can
    It’s a measure of trust
    When love is alive
    It’s tender and tough
    It’s all love is about
The opening up and letting out
    Dunvegan (cringe)

  8. Janice Ball says:

Dunvegan Castle is in Scotland on the Isle of Skye. It is the family seat of the MacLeod of MacLeod, Chief of the Clan MacLeod. It is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and it has been the stronghold of the chiefs of the Clan for 800 years.
