I was thinking Troy would be sacked by now, but will post this anyway. Surely Troy and Adele would have chosen The Dog Rock Motel for their trysts. For one thing Troy looks like Dog Rock. I had to take a photo of my camera (with one of the three cameras I was carrying) because I forgot the cord for the Sony, but it does add to the sordid nature of the whole affair. And my Twitter feed shows how the whole thing was discovered.

If Chris Thomson is correct, and the voters of Freo voted for the Greens, and not for Adele Carles, then her resignation from the party, but not the position, while you’d think they’d have to take some hit just from their (now former) association with her, doesn’t now necessarily diminish their position. It gives her time to find a new job, and whichever way you slice it, although stranger things have happened, she’s gonna need one. And it leaves the Greens to pontificate from the high ground. Business as usual for them, then, moreso if, despite Giz Watson’s denials, the perception remains that Carles was pushed to go public by them.As I wrote before, I also think it’s virtually impossible to do permanent political damage to any party, (as opposed to individual), in Australia, when so many Australians firstly, don’t take much of an interest in politics, (unless it involves sex, hence their interest here), yet morever secondly, have, unlike your good self, such short memories.
I wonder if that amnesia applies evenly across the political spectrum ? You’d think it might apply less to those with the most to lose, but despite Troy’s involvement, Liberal don’t deserve a mention in this discussion until they bother to contest the seat.

Nurry has written another column today arguing why it was a moral decision by the West to completely miss the Buswell-Carles story
he ended his column by repeating his assertion that invasion of privacy cannot be justified in this case because it is of no public interest.
I read a good argument recently that there is a large Catholic population in Fremantle, mostly first and second generation Italians and Portuguese. Aware of this, Carles emphasized family values during her campaign and often brought out her husband and kids.
It is therefore of great public interest to those voters to whom family values are important that the person they voted for is a lying, cheating adulterer.

take a look at the timeline that The West published today. It is clear that Carles knew about the decision before it was made public and then grandstanded, trying to remind Freo that she is a Green, not a Lib.
I agree that nothing can save Carles, just look what the British did to the Lib Dems in the recent election to punish them for getting into bed with the Tories, and they only did that metaphorically, not literally. The wrath of Freo has yet to be vented. I doubt she’ll even stand.

Totally agree Skink – Adele only got up because the Libs didn’t stand a candidate in the By-election and while the Labor Vote was static – The Green Vote was increased totally due to the Liberal Voters holding their noses and voted for the Greens as they wouldn’t in a pink fit vote Labor.
WAtching fails to realise that there is an EPA which decides such matters – this decision looks like the EPA can be bypassed over Coffee and Toast in the Carles/Buswell household.
Imagine the outcry if Ripper and Ravilich did something similar?
