McGowan. It’s not going to happen.

Bonus post today. Didn’t take long for my post Rottnest ennui to be broken. Now. Mark McGowan. Can we all finally agree that Mark McGowan, also better known as “The Slightly Damp Teatowel” isn’t up to the job of opposition leader? If he was up to it, he would have shown it by now. It’s never EVER going to happen. Despite Premier Barnett demonstrating himself to be a complete and utter nincompoop on a daily basis, Mark still looks and acts and performs like his namesake Teatowel. Is there really nobody else?

Erm William Bowe and Newspoll may disagree with you –

The long-awaited quarterly Newspoll from Western Australia puts the two parties at level-pegging on two-party preferred, representing no change on the result for April-June, although Labor has gained four points on its previously dismal primary vote to reach 31%. The Liberal and National parties are up a point to 41%, with the Greens down two off a high result last time (no doubt reflecting static from the Senate election) to 15%, and everyone else down three points to 13%. Colin Barnett’s already poor personal ratings have worsened slightly, his approval down two to 32% and disapproval steady at 56%, while Mark McGowan is down two points on both approval and disapproval, to 47% and 29% respectively. McGowan’s lead as preferred premier has narrowed, from 43-36 to 41-38.

Which, Frank, serves to illustrate the stupidity of the Party system as well as the blind adherance of so many voters to it.
Neither the LNPs nor the ALP have any claim to the political high ground; it’s just that so many electors don’t care to inform themselves sufficiently to make reasonable voting decisions.
All-along-same-ting with financial decisions and religious beliefs.

I don’t really understand an awful lot about politics, but……. I couldn’t help but notice and be alarmed by Barnetts kowtowing to the big iron ore lads after he’d trashed them somewhat. Firstly, I think he was on the money accusing them of pricing smaller miners out. Secondly ,nyah nyah n nyah nyah to him, now he knows what it’s like to have the rug pulled out from under him and thirdly, how far into their pockets is he to snivel and apologise for calling them out on their tactics?
I seriously hope these power hungry, empire building wankers keep their hands off UWA and the likes. I wish I knew more because I feel very uneasy but I don’t know why.

Sneakers is bloody hopeless but the Liberals are toast if they go to the election with Emperor Barnsey still at the helm after 8 years. Who are they going to replace him with – no-one in Cabinet at the moment that is for sure. Don’t forget he was packing up the office for retirement when he was made leader of the Opposition after the Buzz exploded for the first time.

    State politics is beyond depressing.

  9. Sadly this is still true. When will Labor realise that a teatowel never changes its checks?
