Reg has done very well to unearth this time capsule from 30 years ago. It’s great to see the familiar faces of those who now span the globe; some who’ve gone on to greater heights, some who are a little worse for wear and tear, and some who weren’t lucky enough to still be with us. Those who were there know what a seminal era it was for so many. Wonderful shot of Paul Cummings (Elroy Flicker) in his prime, with Neil Wedd, in his hat.

speaking of eighties throwbacks, Mrs Skink went to Duran Duran at Sandalford last night and had her gourmet picnic basket frisked, her quince confit manhandled, and her metal cheese knife confiscated. Apparently knife crime is rife in the wineries of the Swan Valley.

Speaking of the valley, we ventured into Whiteman Park today. Caversham Wildlife Park charges about $25 per adult, yet student discount was $10 for admission. On presenting my student card I was informed that as the university was not West Australian I would need to pay full price. Absolute Fucking Outrage! Am I right?

That $25 gets you about 2 more species than the average traveling cuddly animal exhibit, as far as I can tell.

you can go to the WA Museum and see all these animals for free, without the risk of being bitten or scratched. My four year old was fascinated:
‘is that one dead?’
‘yes’
‘and that one?’
‘they’re all dead’
‘what about that one?’
‘yes, that one is dead too.’
