Poor Christchurch

Some may remember a post of an elephant orgy gracing a Thai restaurant I went to in Christchurch. Here is the place now, largely rubble like the rest of the city, although as you can see, the carving remains. For those that know (or rather knew) the city, there is a comprehensive record here.

This is lovely- hope someone saves it before the building is demolished.

I’m glad to see the elephant did let a little thing like an earthquake get in the way of a good root. Hopefully it won’t be a distantly remembered worst and they’ll rebuild.

  5. Snuff says:

A devastating and truly eerie collection from what was, and will be, a beautiful town.

Commiserations to those who’ve lost so much, and condolences to those who’ve lost even more. Thanks, TLA.
