A piece of home made signery well known to anyone who has travelled down Newcastle Street Northbridge during the last decade or so is about to be lost to the world, as demolishers and revampers have moved in. The colour, the lettering, it’s got it all. I’ll miss it, but at least it will be remembered here. The “I’s” are classic home made.

this will be sad to see go.

We have something similar here in Sydney for a bathroom fittings retailer, not a bile green though, more of a flesh wound red. Where do they find these colours?

I’m not confident it will be replaced with something better.

Oh, come on gaugepin, give us a pic.
I would love to deliver the famous “Real punks can’t spell cappuccino” from a wall in Paddington, or the even more even famouser “Darling it hurts” from Darlinghurst before the expressway.
Sadly nothing on Google images, but both classics.

CK, I’ll do my best. Can’t promise the ‘classics’, but we’ve got a brilliant linoleum shop along Parramatta Rd that I’ve wanted to take a pic of, and now I have a purpose!

So what’s going up instead? Hopefully not another set of those god-awful apartments that seem to be invading the whole CBD. I’ll miss the herbalist shops :(
