Thought you might like this girl who is contemplating suicide on Greenmount Hill – not far from Chippers Leap. She is just a couple of kilometers up Gt Eastern Hwy from the Traveller RV guy. Apologies for the fuzzy zoom close up but pantechnicons were bearing down on me.

in all my years of driving up Greenmount hill she has always faced the road, except on those not infrequent occasions when she has toppled off. As you can see the engineering involved with keeping her on her toes is quite complicated.

A misguided and probably cruel advertisement, i think this diver would make a beautifully surreal public sculpture if her platform was stripped of the aquatic centre noticeboard.

she used to be painted into new bathers every year, but that ended somewhere around the 2004 olympics when she was put into the australian team bathers and hasn’t changed since.
