Andrew D captured a couple of bumpkin movie palaces. How beautiful is Teh Meeka? Even Mt Magnet has a certain pencil pine charm. Obviously the shite they will be playing, and the paying customers will be no oil paintings, but still. The Meeka did have a display admitting a certain smell to the place, but why spoil it? Not worst.

Not so fast. This is Meeka, always a worst lurking somewhere. Meeka used to be segragated. No indigenous in the swimming pool, black dots on glasses reserved for non white customers in the Royal Mail. Tuckey’s Port Hotel in Carnarvon had the same practice. My guess is the Picture Gardens were no different.
A photo of one of those old apartheid glasses would make a fine retro-worst.
