If it’s all the Federal Government’s fault, then why does Perth have a specific reputation for overpriced posh nosh? Surely just as much to blame is the boomtown culture where Perthies don’t seem to notice or mind when they’re being ripped off. This is what might tend to happen when your city’s “premier fine dining precinct” (Packer, 2011) is inside a casino.
