The Bamboos seemed to be the support act for every touring band in 1985/6, they must have had good management. Whereas The Marigolds were criminally overlooked time after time.

The Triffids were a terrific live band. It’s difficult to convey to people who weren’t there just how good they were, as their recorded material didn’t always do them justice. They also went from being very indie (Treeless Plain, all the early singles), to 80’s overproduced (Bury Me Deep In Love) in what seemed like the blink of an eye. However, during this time they did manage to maintain a level of great live performances. Lest we forget they did make the cover of the NME back in 1986, and were the first WA band to do so.
