Spoiler alert. You need to work them firmly but gently. I read the last page. This is the sequel to Total Bullocks. Fremantle.

Isn’t she the one who wrote Coonardoo about the other, unacknowledge side of the Hancock and Throssell families on Ashburton Downs?

Admittedly, KSP’s titles were not always her strong point, especially this time. I’m writing a PhD on her, and Working Bullocks is far better than it sounds. It’s set in the south-west timber country and was a landmark in Australian literature – though she’s now more famous for Coonardoo. Who’s selling this copy, BTW? (WoP is so funny till it gets close to home – now I know how Kalamunda feels. I may go start a cat-shitting blog.)

One of the Bony plots was used by executed murderer Snowy Rowles who killed his victims on the Murchison, where he worked with Upfield, He thought he could cover his murders by burning kangaroo bones over his victims, as in the book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Murchison_Murders

If Winton had worked on the Rabbit Proof Fence instead of Updike there would’ve been no plot to pinch
