   I’m starting to develop an irrational hatred of Ros Thomas. She seems to becoming the Michelle Phillips of the twenty-first century. The West are furiously plugging her book: ‘Middle class white kids say the funniest things.’
   In her column this week she went recreational slumming in Rockingham: “Look mummy, that bogan is eating a chiko roll!’

       I didn’t know who Griffin Longley was. Google tells me he is no longer at The West, but is now in charge of patrolling kiddies playgrounds. I guess it’s better than cruising public toilets. Clearly a career at the West is a gateway to bigger and better things.

       I like the bit on her profile where she says she used to be a ‘metropolitan journalist’
