The Nannup Mermaid

Apparently the skin really dries out when they get so far inland. By Shazza. Superb. Looks a bit like Benny Hill. Or is it Bert Newton?

I prefer to think of it as Matt Newton: A Cautionary Tale.

The comparison this this and Newton Jr as Ka Jothee in Farscape is amazing.

Are you sure that isn’t you in a Dorian Gray situation, shazza?

Are you suggesting I’m corrupt and ugly on the inside DFOC?
Though I did look quite like this on Sunday morning just gone (with clothes on I might add).

It’s the subtle touches that make a TWOP photographer – the wheelie bin, the elusive hint of a reflection of the photographer, the nip, and the SWEET JESUS WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?

Despite the chipped paint and general deterioration, this is one piece you know didn’t look any better beforehand; perhaps even worse? The webbing between the fingers is a nice touch, as is the suggestion of a ship’s figurehead, the corner of the two plank walls forming a prow.

It’s Tammin Sursok, I tried to get an image to link but just got snowed out with Adult Friend Finder’s suburban boob galleries. Sadly my search for Tammin+Sursok+papier+mache likewise yielded naught. But it’s her.

I thought I recognised the “Down Mermaid” from outside the “House of Dada” which was a small gallery of extremely hip crapiness on the main drag.

A quick check of Street View could have confirmed it, but I find that Nannup has been removed from S.V.

Was this a fit of collective paranoia, or did the google car decide that there was nothing to see anyway, turned off the camera and grabbed a dodgy pie before heading down the Vasse Hwy to Busso for a quick swim before knockoff?

A monument to the SW hippy permanent female condition of free therapeutic advice, wellness and healing for your appallingly constrained personality which takes the form of a selfless buddhist smile of wry amusement. Usually delivered in a SW “village” street in passing, so as not to imply sexual interest. For particularly intransigent fucked up cunts, a massive therapy dose is available at growers’ markets on saturdays across the SW Nation of Grace when the experience is not unlike looking at that row of clowns with their mouths open at the royal show. This will break down those fascias fascists bedeviling your person and restructure the muscles and body to improve posture.

Ha ha listen to your poncing on! Nannup is a beautiful community to be part of and the mermaid is a symbol of our light-hearted attitude to life. Maybe she’ll keep a few tourists away! Can always hope!
