Pre Loved Babies

A nice find from a nice clown. Edward De Bozo also picked up several water damaged toddlers here at Girrawheen Farmer Jacks.

There’s been many a moment in the preceding 18 months I would have happily tried my luck selling number one son. Even an exchange for a better one.

we were kinda convinced that our youngest came out flipping us the bird – in attitude if nothing else – which is strangely appealing and yet frustrating with regard to his strength of personality. I see we are not alone though when it comes to pre-birth attitudes.

Continuing our discussion here Snuff, Troy is nobody’s enemy than himself because he has no more control over his reward system than the average junkie. See his wikipedia page where he is undoubtedly of high intelligence but has been duped by both power brokers in the Liberal party (Crichton-Browne) and the Labor party (Grills & Burke).
Snuff, this is your statement “Any differences they might have are easily overcome by what they have in common, which is that they can only win seats from the ALP, therefore their common enemy.”
Possum points out that occupational status plays a large part in voting behaviour. This implies that votes may flow between all parties when people have changes over time in occupational status. The Liberal party and the Labor party have a common enemy in the Greens and Labor and the Greens have a common enemy in the Liberals. Frrrtt

Tellingly, you’ve left one out, Bill. The Liberals and the Greens have a common enemy in Labor.
So, as a Liberal, apparently now Troy has enemies in the Labor and Greens parties. That still doesn’t sound like nobody to me.

On the contrary, Bill. We’ve agreed that the Liberals and the Greens do indeed have a common enemy in Labor, and that Troy apparently has plenty of enemies. Much closer than where we started.

I hope the fascination with this story wanes reasonably quickly – I’m bored with it already, and the puritanism, misogyny and knicker-bunching which seems to characterise the public response is making Perth look very provincial.

Usually, the tone of commentary here is better than the brainsquawks on the Worst or WAToady, but the venom of the fat jokes directed at Adele is pretty much on a par, it seems.

Other than displaying questionable judgement, I don’t really see what either has done wrong, from a public service point of view. It appears neither party’s voting or professional performance can be questioned, and it also appears Troy made perfectly legitimate use of his entitlements.

Rooting someone of a different ideological persuasion is hardly a hanging offence. And Frank – if you think this will destroy the Greens, you credit the public with a far longer memory than I do.

I think it’s yet to be seen whether there has been an abuse of parliamentary entitlements. Given his previous form, and the fact he admitted as such, leaves one to wonder.
As a freo resident, and occasional green voter (locally) I agree Bento. This will not sway my opinion of the party one bit.

Rubbish, and you know it – Adele won because of the pissed off ALP voters and all the Libs votes cos they didn’t run a cadidate.

Take those away and Adele is toast – as she will on Saturday when rthe Bolshies at murdoch Uni will cast her aside as a bad experiment.

        • Bento says:

          What do you mean ‘rubbish’?

You concede the voters were pissed off with Labor. I put it to you that Labor has done nothing to endear themselves to the population since the last State election. The demographics in Freo have shifted, and it can’t be viewed as a safe Labor seat any more. But they haven’t shifted far enough for the Libs, or any of the conservative or single issue nutcase parties, to have a hope of winning. So, the Libs will stay out of Freo, and leave it to the Greens and Labor to duke it out. The middle class NIMBY leftie Freo sympathies will just keep trending Green, if you ask me, and the foibles of one individual won’t change that.

Bolshies have not existed at Murdoch at least since the great purge of a few years ago. One laconic past-Bolshie lecturer remarked to me a few years back that most of his kind had been sent to the Gulag – i.e. Rockingham campus.

NF’s last word: most university courses are now so vocationally oriented that most, if not all, lecturers are reduced to the status of mere “instructors”. No longer any humanist emphasis on research, knowledgeability and so on. Just the facts, man.

Having had the leisure for once to read and analyse the above politcking, I conclude that (a) politics is for assholes; (b) the Greens are not nearly as benign as they would like to paint themselves (always vote Labor meself, though agree that this is almost purely a least-worst option choice); (c) bring on the Revolution.
