Gotta admire anything green and not dead in Perth over summer. The rest of the landscaping is a good example of the 1950s-60s Freo-Italianate style, otherwise known as concrete.

I could think of nothing more Perth than chopping down a tree to make room for a public art plonked shape of a tree(ish).

I notice the term “Emo” crops up here, and yeah, the kids that assembled outside Wesley, or across the road in Central (NYC envy) Park, used to be Emo, but I doubt they are now? I think the original Emos got kicked out by the more aggressive replacement. Quite what they are I’m not sure, but some of them still wear those very wide trousers which seem to be held together by crime-scene tape. Does anyone know the collective term for the present Wesley sub-group?

Not a worry, – they’ll grow out of it.
