Speaking of vanished worsts, Aussie Motors (formerly Auto Mako complete with shark logo) is now gone, forecourt and all. A new building going up, not doubt catering to tapas, fixie, poodle owning types. Also long gone across the road is Budgeriecars where I bought my Valiant.There’s a vegetarian place called *ugh*Veggie Mammas or something, which may have finally crushed the Aussie Motors spirit. Or maybe it was the sex shop.In any case, end of a worst icon for The Arrondissement.

I bought my old Beamer from Budgeriecars across the road. I kind of miss how the strip used to have old school delicatessens and car yards. As you say it’s all hipster stuff now. The Scotto is probably the highest population of fixie riders and ironic T-Shirts per head of drinkers in Perth. I don’t live there now but I’m glad I did (in Mary St) for 5 years or so back when it was still a bit gritty.
Budgericars Valiant. I’m gettin a bit sick of Beaufort now. I think I will be reborn an 8th Avenue Maylands man as soon as Swallow aka MadKuntz aka Knobgoblin opens.
