From Michael. It twould be hard to resist pushing an empty sound deadening pie bag into this Bose bin, especially if Eros “The Armpit” Ramazzotti was playing. Since this is Beeches Tavern in Beechboro, it may well be a worse option. Keith “Grandma’s Feather Bed” McDonald? Does he still torture the eardrums of Old Perthonians? Beeches is not an establishment I’ve heard of before. Don’t think there’s been a Beechborian entry before.

…but the rest of 6063 is a big ol’ rubbish bin, though, so please dispose of thoughtfully.
Thank you.
I hereby accuse you of post code snobbery.
Regards,
Mark McGowan
I live close enough (6062) to know better, but far enough not to be ensnared by it. ‘Tis another world to Morley, making my suburb look really attractive, no mean feat I may add!
How can the Oasis of Embleton be associated in the same postcode as Morley?
Simple. As stated in one of my recent posts, Coolbellup being the Embleton of the South and Hammy Hill respectively to Morley, what both pairs of suburbs share is the same postcodes (6062 in those north, 6163 south).
Also one can argue that this relationship can be extended to another pair of adjacent suburbs occupying the same postcodes either side of the river: Noranda 6062 and Spearwood 6163. Relative to the previously mentioned suburbs, they have a similar role to play: both feature the newer sections, often full of ostentatious homes so favoured by the 2nd gen Southern European market in the 70s and 80s.
While we’re at it, click over to the next postcode North, 6063, you’ve got Beechboro, of which I need not elaborate on any further. Tick one over for the South, 6164, nearest to them you have is Yangebup, which makes Success (same P/C) somehow look elegant.
Thus I dub Beechboro the Yangebup of teh North!
this is exactly the sort of postcode snobbery that is likely to make Mark McGowan get all Himmler on your ass
oh, I see it’s already been said
curse this scrolling
But Embleton’s quite nice and Coolbellup is horrible.
What is this Coolbellup and Embleton that you speak of?
My post code is 6008.
I must say, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Hear hear, Hugh.
I doubt if those two other…places are as leafy as 6008 and surrounds.
Anything above 6000 is banjo country. We dispensed with leaves long ago, too.
True these days, I would objectively concur. However, both did hail from a similar era (Embleton about five years older) and were similarly predominantly State Housing Commission suburbs, relative to their respective adjacent suburbs of the same postcodes.
It all makes sense.
6+ 0 + 6 + 2 = 14
6 + 1 + 6 + 3 = 16
16 -2 (second generation wogs) = 14
Therefore, Coolbellup and Embleton resonate the same vibration.
6 + 0 + 6 + 3 = 15
6 + 1 + 6 + 4 = 17
17 -2 (same diff of 2 as above) = 15
Therefore, Beechboro and Success are cosmically linked.
you’ve spent too long in North Perth bookshops being ‘cornered’
You’ve got your bookshops mixed up buddy.
It looks like they’ve undertaken a Queens-esque renovation with the obligatory mini-orb sheeting, but wisely chose to retain the distinctive carpet (which appears to have possibly been the original lobby carpet from the Burswood Casino?). I’d be interested to see a wider shot.
Damn it.
Now I am confused…

Nice one, WAtching. You should submit that “here”.
I feel compelled to share this fine example of US worst:

A truly outstanding bummer worst SW and safe for the children.
Children should never, I repeat never, put kipper ties in rubbish bins!
Nice rant about advertising at IRL BTW
Thanks SW – i wish i’d written this rant as well!
The artfully draped receipt….
The Bose speaker’s use as a receptacle of rubbish hinges entirely on the music it emits. The prospects at Beechers are presumably not so good.
Chances are high that it has to amplify yet another cover version to that charming ode to herpes, “Sex On Fire”, the chorus so beloved of poor misguided bogans.
Talking of bogans, the fellow-travellers at the Things Bogans Like blog have added a link to TWOP on their homepage. When you roll the cursor over the link, it states, “The isolation of Perth has created a rare breed of bogan”. No truer words spoken.
Keith MacDonald still apears in the gig guide in Xpress each week.
Hence the sign, SW.
Whoops, Orbea.
