Roof 2K

How often have I lain beneath rain on a strange roof, thinking of home.

William Faulkner

A nice first submission from Turf. Turf says…

I have driven past this one for years, and wonder if the sign has been left there as a joke. It’s at the intersection of Canning Highway and Stirling Highway, East Fremantle.I think it speaks for itself, the ROOFING 2000 building has a really rusty roof. You don’t see very many houses with a rusty roof these days, but the ROOFING 2000 building has one.

And 2000 sounds so futuristic doesn’t it? Thanks Turf?

I like the thinking here. As long as you restore the patio roof and put in a really big frangipani, who gives a shit.

  2. Rage says:

+1000 points if your brick fence looks like it will collapse under slight duress.

  3. B says:

Finally. This one irks me every time I see it, the mix up of uppercase and lowercase lettering!

  4. margeryx says:

And its always good marketing sense to pay out for a sign and not include your phone number.

Tho’ with a catchy name like Roofing 2000, it’s probably not necessary.

  5. BIG R says:

you guys just back off ok. roofing 2000 rocks. they did my roof and it is sweet. ok.

  6. Maybe it’s like how a good barber often has a bad haircut himself.

  7. Anonymous Perthon says:

Whats that little structure in a cage behind the sign? Must be dangerous if they’ve had to lock it up like that.

  8. Russell says:

Big R – lucky you. Roofing 2000 doesn’t need better advertising and they don’t have time to fix their own roof, they’re so busy you’d be fortunate to even get a quote out of them.

  9. Rolly says:

Another case of “It’s the cobblers kids who’ve got no shoes” Eh?

  10. Big Ramifications says:

Hallo. Long time lurker, here. I wish I could contribute more. But I feer you guys are a bit too knowledgeable for me.

What’s your opinion on ROOFBARS? Or what I dubbed ROOFBARS, to be technically correct.

Y’know. The garage roof. Bung on a waist high metal balustrade. Whack on an outside staircase. ROOFBAR!

I have great memories of getting absolutely shetfaced on Sundays on my mate’s roofbar. Erm… but that doesn’t mean they’re not naff.

There are a few rippers on Charles St / Wanneroo Rd out Yokine way. Sometimes I sit at the lights looking at Wanneroo Rd roofbars, fondly remembering my misspent yoof.

  11. Get that phone camera out when you’re at the lights next time Big R.

  12. They have got brand new signs. I assume from being horrified to see their place on TWOP. So another vanished worst. I couldn’t see if the roof is still rusty. Any East Freo worsters can tell me?

  13. big d says:

Yeah, it’s still that rusty. I like the new signs. Roofing 2000 is commited to that look now they’ve been on worst of perth.

We can handle the worst
