I know this is completely insane but I was a bit bored after writing the previous comment so googled cock fighting and found this excellent piece of prose….

“A good fighting cock must have the small head of a peacock, the body of a cormorant, deep eyes, long black upper legs, short lower legs, wings neatly wrapped like a shell, a long and a strong neck.”

I don’t think the pictured birds are quite up to scratch based on this description. it was followed by this enigmatic statement….

What a marvellous object. I wonder how they get that fake mother of pearl effect or is that a real giant eight sided pearl shell?
It does remind me of a fabulous article in the West a few years ago where two Philippino men were arrested for cock fighting – both were fined and had their cocks confiscated. These people need both their cocks and palms removed.
